Fishing requires a multitude of different types of line. Braid, silk, nylon, fluorocarbon, titanium, steel... The choice is vast and each type of line brings its own set of useful characteristics for different fishing techniques. Nylon is one of the most commonly used fishing lines. Nylon Shimano, for what type of fishing?

As mentioned above, each type of line has its own characteristics that are suited to certain types of fishing. Nylon, which often has greater elasticity than other filaments such as fluorocarbon or braid, is very popular when used with high-vibration lures.
Swimming fish such as crankbaits, lipless or chatterbaits generate a lot of vibration, which can be uncomfortable when fishing. Thanks to its elasticity, nylon absorbs some of these vibrations.

At Shimano, Technium Invisitec is available in 8 diameters ranging from 16/100 to 40/100, to suit different fishing techniques.

Nylon, a not-so-old-fashioned filament

Since the advent of fluorocarbon in recent years, nylon has been somewhat shunned by lure anglers. This new filament has overtaken nylon thanks to its greater invisibility.

However, it is back in fashion as anglers become more aware of its many qualities for lure fishing. Shunned by bass anglers for its elasticity, it is increasingly found in their tackle boxes when these wide-mouthed fish are looking for vibration.

For trout fishing, its elasticity reduces stalls. What's more, not all nylons are more visible than fluorocarbon. So it's important to know what you're going to use this filament for.
