Pre-sale checks
The range of reels we offer will of course be checked. They will all pass through our hands and an inspection will be carried out. We will take and provide you with a series of photos to help you assess the quality of the product and any faults it may have, whether on the frame or on the spools.
Our inspection points will be :
- General appearance for a clean presentation
- The impeccable condition of the reel, in particular the lips and perfectly straight axle on casting models
- Functionality of the drag
- For spinning reels, whether or not the pick-up opens and closes automatically.
- For casting reels, the release trigger and the smooth rotation of the spool.
- The play in the crank will also be inspected, even if it is normal in most cases for there to be a little, both on new and old reels.
- Finally, the fluidity and sound of the reel will be assessed.
All these factors will enable us to offer you a quality product that will give you real pleasure during its second life. Don't hesitate to ask us any questions you may have about the products you see online, the accessories or the water they have encountered.
Sources of supply for these reels
Wherever possible, we will always try to give you the source of the reel. This will give you an initial idea of the use to which it may have been put: freshwater carnivorous, sea, feeder, carp, etc. etc.
The main arrivals are those coming directly from Leurre de la Pêche customers. This can be a change of mind after a few uses, a trade-in request to be able to buy a new reel or certain anglers who decide to switch to another technique or another passion. The carnivorous range will be the most represented.
Brands can also offer us certain products that are no longer new at special prices, direct from them. These may be models that have been exhibited at shows, after-sales returns that have benefited from reconditioning, or models that sales agents take on the road with them. These products are generally in very good condition. We recommend them to you if any are available.
Finally, we can recover batches of all brands from wholesalers. Shimano for both spinning and casting, Penn, Daiwa, Black Cat for catfish, Greys for fly tying and many others will be present at our second-hand sales. These reels are listed as second-hand because their boxes may be missing or damaged, or they may have gathered dust or been on display in shops. Their price will always be interesting.
What guarantee?
This aspect is of great importance when buying an investment product. There are several possible scenarios:
- The reel is less than a year old and is covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
- The reel is between 1 and 2 years old, in which case it can claim a guarantee against manufacturing defects. However, after a few months, it's up to you to prove that the problem existed on the day of purchase.
- If your product is more than two years old, you won't have a guarantee, but you can be sure that it will have been inspected with the utmost care.
