Description

The Protone Boat from Graphiteleader is a series of heavy offshore spinning rods designed for anglers who face extreme situations: long battles against tropical giants, open spots in the Atlantic, Mediterranean breakers, exotic destinations with large tunas or GT jacks. Popping, stickbait, jig casting and strong exotic fishing: each model in the range has been developed to offer power, progression and endurance without ever sacrificing the precision of casting or control of the fight.

Available in three configurations covering the braid strands PE4 to PE10, the Protone Boat is aimed at the most demanding technical anglers as well as retailers who want to propose a high-end sea spinning rod with a high perceived value.

The whole philosophy of the Protone Boat is based on the quality and character of its high-resistance blanks. Their progression, ranging between Regular and Regular Fast depending on the model, is the result of a careful balance between several opposing imperatives that few rods manage to reconcile:

  • Launch control: The relative flexibility of the blank allows to engage large voluminous lures (XXL poppers, heavy stickbaits) without ripping the casting or risking breakage at acceleration
  • Shock absorption: During violent surface attacks or sudden rushes of big fish, the progression of the blank plays a shock absorber role that protects the entire chain — line, knots, leader and hooks
  • Long-term control: Prolonged battles against powerful species (tuna, GT, wahoo, large sized mahi-mahi) exhaust both the equipment and the angler; The power reserve of the blank allows to maintain a constant pressure without structural fatigue or permanent deformation

20GPTNS-833BC – The entry-level model, versatile and precise

  • Length: 251 cm (8'3)
  • Lure power: 25 – 70 g
  • Resistance: 30 lb
  • Weight 246 g
  • Braid max.PE4
  • Action: Regular
  • Construction: One-piece

The 833BC model is the most flexible in the range. Its Regular action and casting range of 25 to 70 g make it an ideal rod for medium popping and light to medium stickbait, as well as for intermediate-sized jigs. Its relative lightness (246 g) allows for sustained animations over long sessions without excessive fatigue. Ideal for fishing in tropical destinations targeting moderately-sized species or for coastal fishing in the Mediterranean and North Atlantic.

20GPTNS-834BC – The full-size versatile model, the heart of the range

  • Length: 251 cm (8'3)
  • Lure power: 40 – 100 g
  • Resistance: 40 lb
  • Weight: 338 g
  • Braid max.PE5
  • Action: Regular Fast
  • Construction: One-piece

With a casting range of 40 to 100 g and resistance of 40 lb, the 834BC model is the heart of the Protone Boat range. Its Regular Fast action gives a faster response at the tip while maintaining a good progression in the lower part of the blank. It is perfectly suited to heavy popping, full-size stickbait and supporting jig casting. A strategic choice for anglers targeting GT, medium-sized tuna and large coastal fishing.

20GPTNS-84-6-BC – The maximalist model for great offshore fishing

  • Length: 254 cm (8'4)
  • Lure power: 80 – 160 g
  • Weight: 360 g
  • Braid max.PE10
  • Action: Regular Fast
  • Construction: 1+1 sections

The 84-6-BC model is the masterpiece of the range. Its ability to cast lures from 80 to 160 g and its compatibility with braid PE10 makes it suitable for the heaviest fishing: large deep-sea poppers, giant stickbaits for obese tunas or large-sized GT in exotic destinations. Its 1+1 sections construction makes transport easier while guaranteeing optimum blank continuity under joint constraints. Essential in tropical destinations targeting trophy species.

The Protone Boat is not just powerful: it is also balanced. Animating large lures in popping or stickbait for several hours in a row intensively solicits the wrists, forearms and shoulders. The design of the OLYMPIC blanks, their weight distribution and their handle mounting have been considered to limit muscular fatigue and allow to maintain an effective animation rhythm from the beginning to the end of the session.

Structural power, controlled progression, three configurations covering the PE4 to PE10: the Protone Boat from OLYMPIC is a series of heavy offshore casting rods capable of meeting the demands of the most ambitious anglers, from the Atlantic coasts to the most remote tropical destinations.
