Description

The Shimano Torium A is for anglers looking for a compact, fast and reassuring multiplier reel from the very first turn of the handle. As soon as you pick it up, you notice the quality finish that Shimano is known for, with a design tailored to trolling and jigging.

Its lightweight, compact construction offers genuine comfort on the bank or on a boat: the reel is easy to handle, comfortable to hold and perfectly balanced on a suitable rod. The lightweight HAGANE body feels rigid and durable, inspiring confidence, while the S Compact body design reinforces its compact feel without compromising on power. The result is a super-fast multiplier reel with a brisk, consistent retrieve. Its 6.2:1 gear ratio retrieves more than a metre of line per turn on every size except the smallest, size 14.

For hard-fighting fish, the Cross Carbon Drag, adjusted using the Star Drag, provides smooth, precise drag with a stated power of 11 kg. In practice, this helps you stay in control of pelagic fish, as well as in more technical situations where you need to manage runs and absorb sudden bursts of speed. Versatility is one of the Torium’s biggest strengths: it’s suited to jigging, bottom fishing, casting large lures and weights, as well as deep-water fishing and squid jig.

It really comes into its own when you need to retrieve quickly, maintain plenty of power in reserve and respond immediately to bites near the bottom. Available with a left- or right-hand handle, it’s a natural choice for sea fishing setups and techniques where responsiveness makes all the difference, especially when targeting larger bottom-dwelling predators.
