The Evergreen Salty Superior The Prospector SPRS-93MH-T takes light game fishing to a whole new level, with an extra-long design built for greater casting distance, better line control and more comfortable fights.
This versatile 9'3" model is designed to explore areas where shorter rods quickly reach their limits: open beaches, stretches of pebbles edged with dense weed beds, and shallow rocky terrain. Its purpose is clear: to deliver remarkable casting distance, make mending the line easier and provide reassuring lifting power when you need to hold fish in the current or around snaggy spots.
The fully tubular blank delivers outstanding acoustic sensitivity, giving you an immediate read on bites and contact with the bottom. The medium-elasticity 30-tonne carbon tip and mid-section provide a firm, dense and responsive tip, while the combination of Toyou Treika® T1100G and Treika® M40X in the mid-section and butt adds responsiveness, strength under load and plenty of reserve power. The ultra-light 4-axis woven reinforcement further improves rigidity without adding weight, resulting in a blank that remains flexible in action and comfortable to use for long sessions.
The titanium-framed Torzite guides help the line flow smoothly and keep it running cleanly during casts. The SiC titanium-framed KG-type tip guide (T-KGST-4) limits sharp angles in the line, while the tip guides with Torzite inserts and the Torzite KL butt guide (T-KLTG20) ensure reliable, lightweight line control. The rod remains ultra-sensitive thanks to its ultra-light set-up, with minimal thread bindings and varnish, and a tip guide secured with just a shoulder.
Comfort is enhanced by the ultra-light front grip made from a 4-axis carbon sleeve, the Fuji IPS reel seat and compact EVA grips. This rod really comes into its own along rocky shorelines, exposed beaches and in areas where you need to cast a long way with a variety of rigs, such as a float rig, Carolina rig, jig head or small hard lures. It is naturally suited to large cod and big striped seabream, while also handling gilthead seabream, sea bass, rockfish, flatfish and some medium-sized pelagic species with ease.
