Duel

The story of Duel begins in the late 1960s in Takeo, in the Saga prefecture on the island of Kyushu, where Yasuhiro Kitagawa established a factory for artificial lures. The company first became known as Yo-Zuri, before becoming DUEL Co. in the mid-1990s. Now based in Fukuoka, it has been designing and manufacturing lures and lines for over 50 years that have stood the test of time. Its philosophy has never changed: the most realistic possible lures, the most effective possible swim actions, and the ambition to always be the first to release more efficient products. The group relies on two complementary brands: Duel, very popular on the Japanese market, and Yo-Zuri, distributed worldwide.

  • The Hardcore series, the brand's signature range: swimbaits, shads, crankbaits, vibes, jerkbaits, and pencils in Bass, Trout, Light Game, and Salt Water editions. The house's most famous system is the Magnetic Weight Transfer System, patented internationally: magnetic balls are held in the center of the lure during swimming for perfect balance, then released to the rear during casting. Result: clean and long-distance casts even against the wind, and a regular action as soon as it hits the water. Recent models in tungsten further increase precision, with a magnet 20% more powerful. Duel also masters multi-layer holographic finishes and 3D eyes, reflections impossible to reproduce with regular paint, as well as the bi-frequency sound chambers of the Hardcore Vibe, which combine low and high frequencies to attract predators from a distance.

Duel's fame is not limited to Japan: its Pro Staff broke several black bass records on the famous Lake Biwa thanks to the Hardcore Vibe, and the notoriety of the products is so great that the brand regularly publishes official warnings against Duel and Yo-Zuri counterfeits.
