The Tidal Long Cast is a reel designed to withstand everything a saltwater fishing environment can throw at it. At the same time, it remains lightweight, allowing you to make long-distance casts effortlessly. When designing this reel, Penn left nothing to chance. The Tidal Long Cast features a rigid, lightweight XRC carbon body, a durable main gear made from premium metals and a virtually waterproof joint. This means the HT-100 carbon washers won't let in a drop of water, dirt or sand.
This Penn reel offers everything you'd expect from a high-quality surfcasting reel, but is much lighter, whether you choose the 7000 or 8000 size. Its major advantage lies in the ease with which you can reach long casting distances. Thanks to PENN® Slow Leveline technology, the reel can make up to 50 line turns per oscillation. This means that the line lay is unmatched and the line will be cast easily from the spool, cast after cast.
The 7+1 sealed ball bearings provide smoothness and will stand the test of time in saltwater spray, while the Quick Drag system allows you to quickly switch between drag and free spool functions. The reel comes with two separate line reducers, which can be attached to the spool to help you use less line on each reel.
