It is often said that the spinnerbait is the spoon 2.0. Although it is more commonly used for pike or black bass fishing, versions of this lure have been developed for trout fishing.

Among the spinnerbaits for trout, the most well-known is Area's by Lucky Craft. It is a lure widely used in rivers or ponds.

Trout spinnerbaits usually feature a single blade. Rounded in shape, this blade emits strong vibrations and bright flashing lights. It is a lure of choice for fishing in rivers where the water is tinged and where there is little current.

Although it is very effective in rivers, the trout spinnerbait has proved to be a formidable lure for fishing in areas. Indeed, in the ponds and lakes where this fishing technique is practised, there is no current and the water is not always clear.

Given the size of these ponds and the few marked spots, trout spinnerbaits allow to explore a lot of ground quickly and effectively. Moreover, this lure can be seen from a good distance, thus making it easy to use.
