Characteristics of lures for sea fishing from a boat

When fishing at sea, especially from a boat, it is often necessary to fish at great depths, particularly for wreck fish such as pollack. At a depth of 60m, you need to fish with heavy-weight lures to reach the bottom and control the action. That's why both soft and hard lures for boat fishing are often heavy.

This is why you'll find pre-mounted soft lures with weightheads that can weigh up to several hundred grams.

On average, pre-assembled soft lures weigh between 40 and 120g. This is a sufficient weight range for sea fishing, depending on the tidal range.

At the same time, surface swimmers can also be used for bass fishing on the hunt. Poppers and stickbaits are ideal for sea and boat fishing. These have been designed to withstand salt and have strong hooks to withstand the force of the fish.

Lures for freshwater as well as the sea

Although many brands offer lures specially designed for sea fishing, it is sometimes worth turning to lures designed for freshwater. These are less common and can sometimes make all the difference on days when fishing pressure is high.

These lures come in different colours and sometimes need to be rigged to withstand the elements, which are often more hostile than on land. However, this does not detract from their effectiveness.
