The G.Loomis Asquith Spey embodies the ultimate technological innovation for fly fishing. Designed and hand-finished in Woodland, Washington, then rolled in the unique Spiral X factory in Japan, this rod brings together the best of what Shimano offers in terms of technology. The Spiral X technology uses a triple layer construction: an oblique fiber core, a longitudinal middle layer, and a reversed axis outer fiber layer. This unique system significantly increases the stiffness of the rod without increasing its weight, which results in an almost immediate power transmission when casting or fighting with a very large fish. Consequently, this fly rod offers unmatched precision and instant responsiveness, essential for searching for and fighting against large salmonids such as salmon or sea trout.
Moreover, this rod is equipped with Sic Titanium recoil guides, designed for lasting performance in a salty or humid environment. Their ultra-light titanium design ensures high resistance while minimizing weight, for optimal comfort and efficiency. The flexibility and elasticity of these guides protect the structure of the rod when handled on a boat or in demanding conditions.
Its meticulous, understated and noble construction is complemented by an ergonomic cork grip, an aluminium reel seat with a Ci4 inset, and a sturdy aluminium transport tube. The design of this rod guarantees immediate power, excellent precision and great capacity for the most demanding fishing, in the river or at sea.
