Compact, lightweight, sturdy and technically accomplished, it accompanies nomadic fishermen all over the globe — from Irish pike rivers to the dark waters of the Amazon, through the wind-battered coastal coasts. A range of travel rods that make no compromise on performance.
The performance of a rod always starts with the quality of its blank. On the Horosha FJs, Sakura has chosen carbon IM24T, a top-of-the-range material known for its exceptional strength/weight ratio. This high-modulus carbon gives the blank a fast action and precise throw, ideal for various lure throwing and the detection of the most discreet touches. The sensitivity transmitted along the blank is remarkable, allowing to feel every vibration, every bottom change, every contact with the fish — even at great distances.
The Horosha FJ rods are built in four equal length sections, a design intended to maximize compactness while preserving the homogeneity of power across the blank. With no flat spots or action breaks at the joints, the loading curve remains natural and progressive. Result: smooth, precise and energetic casts, regardless of the lure used. With an overall length of 55 to 60 cm depending on the model, these rods can easily fit in a suitcase, a hiking backpack or the trunk of a boat.
Equipped with Fuji O-Ring K-Tangle Free rings, the Horosha FJs benefit from a globally recognized line guiding technology. These rings reduce friction to a minimum, minimize the risk of tangling and resist wear over the long term. The line glides with optimal fluidity, which translates into longer, more precise casts and easier handling of fights.
During long fishing sessions, comfort makes all the difference. The EVA grip of the Horosha FJs offers excellent grip, even in wet weather or when handling fish. Lightweight and durable, it contributes to the overall balance of the rod and reduces fatigue during repeated animations. The ergonomic reel seat completes the set with a natural grip and optimal weight distribution.
The Horosha FJ Casting range comes in four models with complementary features:
- The HOC 664 XH (6'6" – 3.5/10.5 g – 59 cm length) is a very versatile Medium Light rod, comfortable both from the shore and on the boat, perfect for light lures and finesse techniques.
- The HOC 664 XH+ (6'6" – Extra Heavy Plus – 55 cm length) is the reference for swimbaits, spinnerbaits and jerkbaits enthusiasts. Ideal for pike, peacock bass, aïmara, but also for sea fishing targeting cod, pollack, bass and meaigers with heavy jig heads.
- The HOC 704 H (7'0" – Heavy – 58 cm length) stands out for its great versatility. Spinnerbaits, bladed jigs, rubber jigs, soft or hard lures: it handles everything, whether you are targeting bass or pike.
- The HOC 734 XH+ (7'3" – Extra Heavy Plus – 60 cm length) is the rod for big calibers. Designed for large swimbaits and large soft lures, it will delight trophy pike hunters and competitive black-bass fishermen, while remaining comfortable to use throughout a day of fishing.
