Illex Casting Rod Illex Night Shadows B 250 XH+ FG Combat Dog

Designed for hunting specimen pike and musky, the Illex Night Shadows B 250 XH+ FG Combat Dog is aimed at anglers looking for power, control and genuine line-holding strength when fishing very large lures. From the first casts, you can feel that this rod is built to take the strain, cast long distances and stay under control, even when the fight really gets going.

This Extra Heavy baitcasting rod inherits the DNA of the iconic Reservoir Dog, with the addition of a fibre glass composite that gives it a very distinctive character. Its generously sized blank, combined with a long handle and its action, allows you to load the rod efficiently to cast rigs over long distances, whether fishing from the bank or from a boat. You can feel its power reserve immediately: the leverage helps you control the lure, maintain pressure and set the hook securely at distance, where fish are often wary and far away.

The Combat Dog excels when used intensively with hard and soft swimbaits. It is also perfectly suited to pike spinnerbaits and large lipless crankbaits. This is a true heavy-duty search rod, designed for methodically covering large areas and triggering both active fish and pressured specimens.

Japanese FUJI components further enhance its technical credentials. The Fuji Alconite "K" guides reduce the risk of line tangles during casting while promoting a smooth, consistent flow. The ACS reel seat provides a secure grip and precise baitcasting reel positioning, so you can stay in control both when casting and during the fight. Supplied with a screen-printed case, it is ready for your most ambitious sessions.

On large lakes, deep gravel pits, clear-water stretches or spots where pike need to be targeted at a distance, this rod really comes into its own. It performs at its best when you need to cast far, work large lures smoothly and retain maximum power when setting the hook into a heavily armed fish. A true ally for anglers who want to fish big, far and hard without sacrificing precision.
