Floats for breaker or buoy fishing

Breakbait fishing is one of the most popular techniques for baiting catfish. It involves using a weight (often a stone) attached to a float and a leader with the bait. The leader connecting the float to the stone has a low resistance which will give way on contact.

When the fish takes thebait (visible thanks to the float), the leader connecting the float to the stone gives way, causing the fish to hook itself.

The float is also useful for buoy fishing. For catfish fishing, floats weigh between 100g and 300g to hold any size of fish. Make sure you choose a float suited to the weight of your fish so that it doesn't take up too much of your float.

Underwater floats for greater discretion

Underwater floats are floats that are invisible on the surface. As their name suggests, they are positioned below the surface and are also designed to raise the live b ait from the bottom.

For fishing rivers in flood or with high flow rates, you can also use finned underwater floats that turn on themselves against the current. Some are fitted with rattle that generate vibrations toattract catfish.

Underwater floats are both a float to lift your bait off the bottom and a lure that will attract the finest catfish to your bait.
