The casting reel Metanium DC A is the flagship of the company's baitcasting reels Shimano. This reel features the very latest I-DC5 Intelligent Digital Control braking system, the latest HAGANE technology and an advanced spool design and construction to deliver competition performance for the most selective and experienced anglers.

The Metanium DC is a casting reel featuring the very latest technology from Shimano. It is considered by many competitors to be the ultimate reel. This casting reel is perfectly capable of casting a wide variety of lures, from small weightheads weighing 5g to crankbaits weighing 30g and more. It's a versatile reel that you can use to fish for predators such as perch, black bass, zander and trout.

The Metanium takes full advantage of the latest Shimano digital braking system (I-DC5) for flawless casting performance to match your skills and abilities.

It benefits from a super-light Core Solid HAGANE frame, made from magnesium that offers a compact size that fits perfectly in the hand, balancing the most high-end rods to perfection. Inside are 10+1 high quality bearings, and Infinity Drive, MicroModule Gearing and X-SHIP technologies combine perfectly to deliver the smooth, powerful reel action synonymous with the best reels Shimano.

The Magnumlite III spool is constructed from Ultra Duraluminium and features Silent Tune technology to stabilise the bearings and reduce vibration when casting. The reel speed is controlled by the latest I-DC5 system. This system allows you to adjust the casting brake according to the type of line you're using and the size of the lure. So no matter what size lure you're using, you've got great automatic casting control. This technology is exclusive to Shimano and improves casting performance to levels of precision rarely achieved.
