The right size of swimming fish for trout fishing

Trout are fish that generally feed on small prey:

minnows (and other small fish)
insects
larvae
crayfish

Sinking, Fast Sinking, Suspending, Floating are all swimming actions that can be found in swimming fish. All have their uses. In rivers and lakes, you need the right lures for the best results.

In rivers with a current, choose sinking or fast sinking swimbaits so that they reach the right layer of water quickly. Your hard bait will then swim more efficiently and faster.

In lakes or rivers with slow currents, a suspending or floating lure may be more effective because it is more natural. When you pause, this type of hard bait tends to remain static for longer. It is often at this precise moment that trout attack.
