The Casting rod Illex The Artist X5 B 215 MH Black Sword is designed for anyone looking for a versatile, responsive baitcasting rod that is a pleasure to use by the water. From the very first time you pick it up, you’ll notice what makes the difference during an intensive day’s fishing: lightness, sensitivity, power and balance, all brought together in a setup designed for precise, comfortable casting time after time.
At 2.15 m long, with a fast action and a short handle, this rod excels at precise, fast-paced fishing, whether from a boat, a float tube or the bank. The premium X5 blank, made using a pre-impregnated sheet process with carbon fibres oriented at three angles, delivers remarkable resonance. On the water, this means you can feel the lure’s movement in fine detail and detect bites more clearly, even among dense structures.
The BLACK SWORD is built for intensive use with hard baits, as well as light Texas rigs, metal lures and rubber jigs. It is ideal for fishing the margins and specific spots, and for any situation where you need precise control of the lure while retaining plenty of power in reserve. This is a rod that inspires confidence when targeting big perch, black bass, zander and pike.
The FUJI TORZITE TITANIUM 'K' guides play a direct part in this sense of control. Finer and lighter, they optimise the transmission of information to the blank, improve casting distance and help extend line life while reducing the risk of tangles during casts, whatever the conditions. The smoother performance is noticeable with every lure action, with a rod that remains responsive, precise and a pleasure to use during long sessions.
This Illex The Artist X5 really comes into its own on waters where precision matters as much as responsiveness: margins, marked spots, drop-offs, structures and fast retrieves. It gives you complete control over lures such as stickbaits, jerkbait minnows, as well as wirebaits weighing 10 and 14 g.
