Description

The latest addition to the Shimano family of spinning reels, the Vanford has been given the tough task of replacing the Stradic Ci4+, which has enjoyed such a good reputation over the years. The brand has put all its expertise at its service to make it a future benchmark in lure fishing.

The main objective with this new Shimano reel model was to offer a rotor that was both very light and very strong. And the Magnumlite system has done just that. This system features a new rotor design that reduces inertia by 14% while increasing overall rigidity by 30%.

You'll find the Ci4+ concept on both the frame and the rotor. This keeps the weight down. At 150g for the 1000 size, it's the lightest on the market, and at a much lower price than the competition.

The brand's other renowned technologies are also present. These include Micromodule II and silentdrive for smooth, precise operation, plus Hagane and X-Ship gears for power when you need it.

The X-Protect has been positioned both on the roller and on the frame to ensure a watertight seal. This makes it compatible for use in both fresh and salt water.
