The Locolong Jig is a vertical fishing lure for the sea by Sakura, designed for anglers who wish to effectively explore all depths, including strong current areas. Available in 7 weights — 60 g (115 mm), 80 g (132 mm), 100 g (150 mm), 120 g (160 mm), 150 g (174 mm), 180 g (182 mm) and 200 g (192 mm) — it adapts to all fishing setups, from rocky shores to offshore drop-offs.

Its elongated and asymmetrical profile, combined with a weight distribution concentrated in the lower part, gives it an exceptional rate of descent. As a result, the Locolong Jig quickly reaches hunting zones located at depth, where pelagic and demersal species reside. Once in the zone, its whirling swimming action, known as "fluttering", produces a multitude of luminous and sparkling flashes, perfectly imitating a fleeing injured fish.

The Locolong Jig excels in two complementary animation styles:

  • In Long Jerk, wide and slow ascents trigger reflex attacks from ambush predators.
  • In Speed Jigging, quick and repeated rod strokes cause frenzied swimming that aggravates large predators like GT (Giant Trevally), Dogtooth Tuna or Grouper. Be sure to vary retrieval speeds and amplitudes to maximize your chances of bites.

To remain attractive even in poorly lit areas, the Locolong Jig features a high-visibility finish: a phosphorescent Sakura eye and color schemes that combine phosphorescence and reactivity to ultraviolet rays. These features allow the lure to capture ambient light and reflect it better in the depths, thus staying visible and attractive at all water heights.

This deep jig has a metallic chamber containing beads that move to produce a distinctive tinkling sound with each animation.
