The Yamashita Upper 70 is a squid jig designed to trigger the predatory instinct of cephalopods, particularly squid that rise to attack from below. Its posture in the water mimics prey naturally rising through the water column, offering a subtle yet highly provocative presentation when the fish are wary.

Unweighted and slightly buoyant, the Upper 70 creates a very natural presentation beneath the surface. This makes it easier for cephalopods to grab, as they suck it in with confidence. It is precisely this impression of vulnerable prey moving upwards that makes the difference during sessions when you need to provoke a bite rather than wait for one. NEON BRIGHT technology makes it even more attractive with colours featuring a blue, green or red UV body, designed to offer a wide range of light wavelengths in the water.

By matching the reflective colour to the colour of the water, the reflection produced by the squid jig becomes more visible and enhances the cephalopods’ predatory instinct. Blue UV is particularly suited to bright conditions in summer and winter, green UV to spring and autumn, while red UV comes into its own in the morning and evening.
