Shad palette

The Shad Palette is a lure made of a soft part complemented with a palette usually located at the back.

It was during a fishing party that Mathieu Alexandre from Biwaa got the idea to combine a soft lure and a palette when the fish were barely responding to the spoons or soft lures. The Divinator, an emblematic and highly efficient palette lure for pike, was born.

The Different Palette Types

Today, there are different types of lures on the market:

  • the colorado
  • the willow
  • the propeller

Each lure brings its own set of vibrations and lights in the water. The colorado has a teardrop shape. It is rounder than its counterpart, also called willow leaf. Thus, it displaces more water and has proven effective in tracking the catfish. While the willow, thinner and elongated, is more commonly used on pike or black bass.

As for the propeller, it is found more and more on Shad Palette. Originally used for buzzing fishing, its vibrations have proven effective in prospecting fishing.

The Swimming Depths of the Shad Palette

The Shad Palette comes in different sizes, weights, colors and palette shapes. Thus, you can find Shad Palette which fish the deepest as well as the surface layers of water.

Fishing brands have developed this lure so that it can meet a maximum of conditions.

has transformed its Divinator so that it can more easily fish deep and cluttered environments by adding an anti-weed.

While  has developed a surface luring with a colorado palette to effectively prospect the surface. Its hook is camouflaged to minimize the risks of bringing back weed.
