How to choose your jig head?

With so many different soft lures to choose from, there's a wide range of jig head heads to choose from. From 0.5g to over 100g, weightheads are everywhere. This is the main weapon used to rig a soft bait lure. Simple and effective, they combine weight andcocking in a single accessory.

weightheads can be distinguished by :

  • the shape of the head weight
  • hook size
  • weight

You can choose your jig head according to the size of your soft bait, the depth of the spot you want to fish and theaction you want to apply to your lure. jig head is more than just the armament and weight of a soft bait lure. It also allows you to fine-tune the presentation of your lure.

Why adapt the shape of your jig head?

There are various shapes of weights in the weightfamily of heads:

  • round
  • hoof-shaped
  • pointed
  • flat-faced (nedrig)
  • football (shaped like a rugby ball)

This wide variety of weight lures can be presented in many different ways. The most versatile, the jig head round shape allows your lure to be used linearly, like the pointed heads. Shoe, nedrig or football shapes are predestined for use on the bottom, for scratching. They are ideal for zander, perch and black bass fishing.
