The Locolong Jig from Sakura is designed for vertical sea fishing, where every second counts when you need to reach depth quickly and stay in the right water layer. Its elongated profile and weight distribution on the lower part encourage a rapid descent speed, a real asset for effectively prospecting current areas and getting the lure on the spot without waiting.
When animated, this jig reveals all its interest thanks to its asymmetrical profile which allows it to flutter with a whirling swim. In Long Jerk as in Speed Jigging, it multiplies the light flashes and sparkling reflections to attract attention from a distance. This alternation of fast drops and wide movements creates a very lively presence in the water, ideal when fish respond to marked visual signals.
To further enhance its attraction power, the Locolong Jig incorporates a phosphorescent Sakura eye as well as colours combining phosphorescence and reactions to ultra-violet rays. These finishes capture light in depth and restore it with intensity, to maintain good visibility at all water heights. There is also a metal chamber containing internal beads, which produce a discreet but very present sound signal when the jig comes into action.
On vertical sea fishing, this type of lure makes sense when you have to insist above structures, in drift or in areas of strong current. Its quick behavior at descent and then its fluttering swim when animated make it a relevant choice for effectively exploring the water column with precision and regularity, while keeping an excellent reading of the pull-release.
