Description

Always from the mind of competitor Yui Aoki (his 3rd production of the series), the Geelacanth 5.8" is the giant model in the family. Designed for specimen hunting (the search for record fish), this imposing soft bait imitates a large "bluegill" (sun perch) in escape. Its significant volume directly targets the territorial and aggressive instinct of the largest freshwater predators.

The secret of its swimming lies in the use of DURAVITY's exclusive elastomer material. Even with a weight that comes close to 26 grams, the Geelacanth 5.8" from DStyle always has an astonishing ability to flex and deliver an action ultra-vivante ("live feel") that cannot be reproduced with traditional plastic. Floating and highly resistant to tearing, its heart is also filled with salt powder and an attractant.

⚠️ Warning: Elastomer reacts and melts in contact with traditional plastic lures. Always keep your Geelacanths in their original blister pack.

The hybrid body of the Geelacanth has a V-shaped ringed profile, the signature of the range. On this 5.8-inch size, the side ribs stir up an incredible amount of water, producing a powerful rolling motion.

  • Tail VIROLA Tail: Oversized, it moves lots of water on dynamic animations, but also emits micro-vibrations on very slow retrievals.
  • Legs: They continue to twitch at the slightest trigger, perfect for persuading a following fish during a pause.

Despite its "Big Bait" bulk, this lure remains extremely versatile and is suitable for Texas rigging to catch big fish in obstacles:

  • Recommended rigs: Weightless (Texas no weight), Heavy Texas Rig, Carolina Rig, Free Rig, or as a trailer on a large Rubber Jig.

Pro trick: Mounted with a Texas no weight (weightless), insert a heavy Nail Sinker weight just under the jaw. The lure will fall vertically and swim to the bottom, imitating a large vulnerable prey feeding perfectly.
