Description

The Illex Chubby Bug 35 is the ideal lure to trigger fish on small posts and on the surface, with a finish that brilliantly imitates an insect caught in the element.

This hybrid lure of the small Super Shallow Crankbait type has been conceived from a design inspired by insects that wander on the water surface. Its very realistic appearance, associated with small silicone lateral appendages, gives it an immediate visual presence. The silicone slats arranged on two levels make all the difference: in regular recovery, the upper level creates a natural wake at the surface, while at a stop, the slats float and produce spontaneous movements comparable to the wing beats of a trapped flying insect. This material work also brings a moderate resistance, very pleasant to keep control of the lure and better feel its recovery.

The lower level further reinforces the realism: the silicone slats mimic the legs or wings of a small insect struggling under water. Even immobile, the lure reacts to the slightest water movement with subtle and natural actions, which helps to make the difference on cautious fish. The mass transfer system improves casting distances and contributes to the overall swimming performance, while maintaining a very realistic profile.

It's a lure to pull out when the fish are focused on small surface prey or when you have to convince chub, educated black-bass, but also outwit the caution of trout or perch.
