Inflatable fishing boat

There are many different types of fishing boat. Float-tube, boat, pontoon, kayak, paddle... You could almost say that there are as many types of boat as there are anglers. Inflatable boats are popular with anglers who need more space to fish but still want to be on the water to access remote spots. Lighter and less bulky than a rigid boat, they can be stored easily.

Inflatable boats, easy to launch

Many fishing spots don't have a proper launch. For a traditional boat requiring a trailer, launching without one can be dangerous, if not impossible. To overcome this problem, many anglers have turned to float tube fishing, but this type of craft is not suitable for all anglers or all waters.

Inflatable boats can be transported in the boot of a car or on a suitable trailer. They are very light and can be handled by just 1 person. They don't need to be launched and can be slid into the water over soft ground.

Larger than a float tube, you can bring more equipment with you and have more room to move around.

What type of motorisation for an inflatable boat?

An inflatable boat is still a boat. Unlike a float tube, a pair of flippers and good calves won't be enough to steer it. there are 2 ways to steer your boat:

  • an electric motor
  • a pair of oars

You can choose between these 2 options, depending on your budget, the type of fishing you want to do and how comfortable you want to be on the water. These days, you can find electric motors for the tightest budgets at Savage Gear or Rhino Fishing for as little as €200.
