The Evergreen E.G. Rain Jacket EGRJ-303 is a «heavy duty» rain jacket that stands up to rain, wind and abrasion. It is designed for active lure fishing: repeated casts and jerks, pushing through undergrowth and moving across rocks. These activities call for hard-wearing wet-weather gear, rather than just a lightweight rain jacket.
Evergreen has built this jacket around two ideas: «strength» to protect the body, and a fit that holds its shape. Even in prolonged rain, the fabric keeps its shape. It clings less to the body and arms, helping prevent discomfort and restriction of movement.
The jacket is made from three layers:
- outer layer: 100% 210-denier nylon taffeta, resistant to abrasion and tearing
- middle layer: 100% waterproof and breathable polyurethane film
- inner layer: 100% nylon knit, comfortable against the skin
This construction protects against rain and wind. It also provides the durability needed when pushing through vegetation or moving along rocks.
The large hood includes a cap clip. Worn with a cap, it holds its shape more securely at the front and helps keep drops away from the face. A drawcord with a stopper adjusts the fit around the face. A rear adjustment lets you adapt it to the shape of your head.

- YKK zips: all zips are made by YKK, with a double main zip and single zips elsewhere. The sliders have easy-to-grip pull tabs.
- jacket hem: a drawcord adjusts the length and stops wind from getting in underneath.
- double cuffs: an inner adjustment blocks water and cold, while an outer adjustment fine-tunes the fit.
- curved cuffs: they make wrist movements easier and reduce water ingress.
