Fishing Clothing Jacket

Like any outdoor activity, fishing requires equipment. This time, I'm not talking about fishing tackle, but about the angler's equipment. Fishing is still a sport, and you need to be comfortable in your trainers... or should I say your jacket!

There are all kinds of fishing clothes on the market, from caps and jackets to neck warmers and gloves. Depending on the season, technical clothing is particularly important. Such is the case with jackets.

In summer, all we want to do is soak up the sun. But sometimes heavy rainstorms can descend on us. When this happens, either you end up soaking wet and risking illness, or you protect yourself with appropriate clothing.

In such cases, the best thing to do is to have a waterproof jacket to hand. It will protect you from the elements. Some models are very light and breathable, so you won't die from the heat.

Winter jackets

This is surely the season when technical jackets are most useful. The cold and rain are back in force and it's vital to protect yourself. Winter clothing is often very thick and you may not be able to move freely. This is the most common problem with cold-weather clothing at this time of year.

Some brands have designed warm, waterproof jackets to meet the needs of anglers. These include jackets from Westin and Fox Rage, which are ideally suited to fishing.

Everyday jackets

When the weather's nice, why not dress for fishing in total comfort? Most brands offer jackets of varying degrees of warmth. They have the advantage of not being too embarrassing and of providing good coverage in case the temperature drops.

They can be worn for fishing as well as everyday wear, so you can wear the colours of your favourite brands for any occasion. What's more, some have very discreet patterns and logos if you don't want them to stand out.
