Double hooks, the vibrating blade's ally

Less common than treble hooks, double hooks are often used on vibrating blades to arm the belly of the lure.

They have 2 points and a slotted shank. This slot makes it easy to install the hook in the lure's eyelet without having to use a ring split.

In this category, you'll find double hooks specially designed for use with shaker blades. This means you can change the setting on your blades when they become too old.

An old hook still very much in use

It is very common to see a double hook on old streamers. They were used for salmon fishing. Nowadays, this type of hook is still used for live fishing. Double hooks of the "parrot beak " type are designed to fit perfectly into the sides of live or dead fish.

These hooks are also used to rig large soft lures. You'll find one on the Pelagic Cat from Madcat, magnetised on the back.

This type of hook should be complemented by a jig head or a screw-on head for rigging a soft bait.
