For which species?

The propbaits are very versatile surface lures. They are intended for all species of predatory fish. From the perch to catfish, it can also lure pike and black bass. The sound it produces with its propeller, sometimes metallic sometimes plastic, is not yet very well known to the predators. Thus, it can attract the most educated predators.

To adapt to the different types of predatory fish you wish to track, brands have designed more or less robust propbaits. The most famous of them all, the Whopper Plopper by River2Sea. This model comes in 3 sizes :

The last one, with its 19 cm, has been specially designed to search for catfish and pike. As for its little brothers, they are
more suited to fishing for perch or black bass, although a pike doesn't ignore them.

How to use a propbait?

A good lure is nothing without good animation... Although the propbait is one, a simple surface cast-and-retrieve makes it effective. Up to you to play by making pauses or great accelerations.

The propbait is appreciated for fishing the surface of cluttered areas with dead wood or weed beds. Thanks to the noise it makes in the water, predators locate it from a distance and don't hesitate to attack it.

Then it's up to you to adapt it to the biotope you want to fish, to the species you target and to the water color. Numerous colors are available for this type of lure. Whether natural or flashy, there is a proper bait for all situations.
