Characteristics of lipless crankbaits

Lipless Crankbaits belong to the large family of hard lures. It is a hard bait sinking lure that can be used to explore different layers of water. Lipless Crankbaits often have a pointed nose and hook on top. It is this characteristic that sets them apart from other swimming fish.

What's more, some models like the DK from offer 2 hooking eyes so that they can swim at different depths with the same retrieve speed. As a result, the lure has a unique swimming action that will appeal to all predators.

Often equipped with beads, this is a fairly noisy lure that emits powerful vibrations. It is very similar to the vibrating blade but has a lower pitch and dives more slowly.

How do you use it?

This particularly effective hard lure can be animated in different ways depending on the spots you're fishing. At depths of around 3m, the lipless crankbait is a great prospecting lure. By pulling on the lure, you can locate the layer of water where the fish are most active.

Bites often come on the way down, so keep your wits about you! When a lipless crankbait is in the water, it's always fishing.

If you're not lucky enough to fish in such deep water, it's still very effective line fishing. If you take short breaks or waddle over the bottom, it's like a crayfish. What's more, some brands take full advantage of this characteristic by offering a colour that imitates a crayfish as closely as possible.
